Rejoice

A week has passed and I looked over my performance. The last few days were really productive, the earlier days were a blurr. Though, among those misty hours, I skimmed through a thought provoking book, The Lord of The Flies. My skim just meant I didn't even bother to check words I did not understand.

Reading the book, I felt I could relate myself more to Piggy than Ralph or Jack. Personally, I've come up with the interpretation that the book describes 3 modes of thinking. Logical, a mix of logic-emotion and emotion, representing Piggy, Ralph and Jack. Piggy was an intellectual and if everyone was him, everyone would prosper through rites but probably wouldn't be able to do basic stuff like hunting or other "primitive" activities. Ralph had plans and was appreciative of Piggy's ideas, after knowing him a while, he could lead the kids to safety and provided both needs of emotion and logic, through allowing fun and security of long-term survival by signalling. Jack was more tuned to his urges and desires as a superanimal to dominate over his environment. I'm not sure where to classify Roger, probably as FULL-EMOTION, mainly because of his uncontrollable bloodlust.

Sadly, Simon was killed. The author said he was supposed to be a Christ-like figure, which applies where he was the only one who saw through the evils which emotions over mystery harboured, and when only went to tell the others the great truth, he was murdered in darkness. Yet, he's neither emotion nor logical
